Alvin Ray French
The Home Going celebration for Alvin Ray French, 69, will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Centennial Chapel of the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
The son of the late William French Sr., and Gustavia Walker French, Alvin was born March 12, 1952 and went to be with is Lord and Savior on June 17, 2021.
Alvin was raised in Idabel, Oklahoma, where he was of the Baptist faith. He was employed with Tyson Foods and KCS Lumber Company. Alvin loved working with his hands and he was a very skilled handy man, often helping his family and friends.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Bob and Lillian French, two brothers, Henry and William French, Jr., and his sister Alnetia Walker.
Leaving to cherish his legacy are his sisters, Doris Clark of Idabel; Loris Gordon and Alice King both of Oklahoma City; Flora Franks and Virginia Lawton (Harold) all of Ardmore; brothers, Bryant French and Nathaniel Watson both of Ardmore; two aunts Esterlene Butler and Joyce Giddens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Serving as bearers will be Tracy French, Maurice Grant, Deon Broades, Quinton Grant, William French, Malcolm Clark, Shelby Gordon, and Dennis French Jr. Honorary bearers will be Dennis J. French Sr., Arvis D. Battle, Floyd Freeman, Reggie Kemp and Raymond King, Jr.
