Bobbie Pender

The daughter of Claude Franklin "Dad" Elmore and Eunice Maggie (Genn) Elmore, Bobbie was born on February 13, 1929 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and passed away on June 29, 2021 in a local nursing facility at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 16 days.

She and William Calvin Pender were married on June 19, 1948 in Gainesville, Texas and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1992.

A resident of the Springer and Ardmore area all of her life, Bobbie graduated from Springer High School. Bobbie loved watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events, family reunions, time spent eating hamburgers on Saturday night with family, and Sunday dinners after church. She was known for her excellent cooking, especially chocolate pie. Bobbie enjoyed sewing, having made blankets for each of her children, grandchildren and yet to be born great grandchildren. She was a member of the Springer Missionary Baptist Church. Bobbie was proud of her Chickasaw heritage.

Survivors include her son, Calvin Pender and his wife Debbie; daughter, Cynthia Hawkins; grandchildren, Rae Ann Wise, Macha Thoene, Dallas K. Ward, Kaleigh Elizabeth Pender-Gary, Corey Lance Pender, Chloe Paige Pender, Judd Hawkins and Daniel Hawkins; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Jackie Hoskins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shelly Royal; granddaughter, Klaire Grace Pender; brother, Wesley Elmore and a sister, Jewel Elmore.

Funeral services for Bobbie Pender will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Elmore officiating. Private burial will be at Springer Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
