Ruby Marie Dollar

Ruby Marie Dollar was born the ninth of ten children, January 10, 1928 to John and Ida Lee (Hussey) Vaughan in Tishomingo, OK. She made her journey to be with the Lord in her home in the Elmbrook Suites on July 9, 2021, at the age of 93.

Ruby grew up in Legate, OK and graduated from Dickson High School in the class of 1946. She worked at Doctor Humberto Vidiallet Pediatric Clinic, retiring in 1993. She would say it was not a job, but a team that loved to work with children. In her later years, she may not remember a parent by name, but would remember the names of their children and usually had a story to tell about them.

After retiring she became a Pink Lady for Mercy Memorial Hospital, volunteering in the gift shop and did so until the age of 90. Ruby was a member of the Church of Christ on Merrick Drive and the Mattie Bruce Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents John and Ida Lee Vaughan; son Bobby Dollar; 2 infant sons; granddaughter Tawni Preston; and her sisters Ollie Mae, Sylvia, Opal, Vera Mae, and Nina and brothers Odis, George, Houser, and Bob.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law Deborah and Carrol Preston; grandsons Brian Preston and his wife Rickeal and Jerren Preston; great grandchildren Kalee Preston Sundeen and her husband Micheal Austin Sundeen, Lexi Jean Preston, Gus Colton Preston, and Gracie Mae Preston; a very special niece and her family, Dianna Lewellen and her husband Rick; Keri Lewellen and daughter Verity Norton; Katie Nunez and husband Jett and their children Jett Dee and Emery Nunez; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 12th at 2:00 p.m. with Mike McGowen officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Carol Vaughan, Lloyd Vaughan, Richard Vaughan, Dave Jordan, John Ruiz, and Joey Vinson will serve as pallbearers.
