Delta Ruth Price
Ardmore - The daughter of the late Joseph T. Hamilton, Jr. and Florence Gwendolyn (Clark) Hamilton, Delta was born on May 7, 1943 in El Reno, Oklahoma and passed away on July 15, 2021 at an Lewisville, Texas hospital at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 8 days.
As a loving wife and mother, Delta adored her husband Truman Price Sr. Together, they raised two boys, Taft Hartley and Truman Jr. She was described as being the wind beneath their wings.
While living in Durant, Oklahoma, she got into the medical profession to help support her husband through college. When her family moved to Ardmore, she began working at Adventist Hospital eventually moving to what is now Mercy Hospital.
In the past few months, while being a patient at the cancer center, Delta was able to renew friendships with past co-workers. Delta received excellent care and loved her health care team. They always made her smile, especially when they sang "Delta Dawn" to her.
In addition to being a busy wife and mom, Delta also started and operated the Delta Flight Restaurant at the Gene Autry Airport.
She also loved spending time attending the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) meetings.
Start to finish, Delta was a country girl at heart and loved being out in the wide-open country where she resided with her husband for the past 37 years.
Delta was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband: Truman H. Price; sons, Taft Price and wife Debbie and Truman Price, Jr.; grandchildren, Troy, Tanner, Taylor, Sydney, and Tara Price and Luke Juricic; siblings, Jim Hamilton along with 4 other brothers and 3 sisters; daughter-in-law, Valerie Nicola. Preceded in death by parents; and a brother, Joe Hamilton.
Graveside services for Delta Ruth Price, 78, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Hillcrest Memorial Park with a reception to follow back at The Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Fellowship Hall.. The family will receive friends at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
