Funeral services Troy Seedig, 99, will be held Friday September 17, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Reverend David Gardner conducting the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with the assistance of Jeremiah Evers, Richard Evers, Charlie Davis, Larry Seedig, Raymond Seedig and Dennis Butler.
The son of the late Waldemar R. and Cora Jennings Seedig, Troy was born June 23, 1922 in Lone Grove, Oklahoma and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 14, 2021.
Troy married the former Sybil Lorain Davis on October 10, 1941 in Marietta, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death September 21, 1998. He later married Eveline McComber Evers on January 26, 2001 in Ardmore and they had celebrated 21 years of marriage.
Troy served in the United States Army during World War II. He was in the battles at New Guinea and Luzon and was honorably discharged December 1, 1945. He received the Good Conduct Medal; Victory Medal; Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal; Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star; and the Bronze Star Medal.
After returning from the service, Troy began his career with Sunkist Citrus Fruit Company. He worked for many years as the cultivation foreman before his retirement.
Troy was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #65, and was a past commander; a member of VFW Post 4865; Military Museum and was a past president. He attended First Freewill Baptist Church and had been a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist.
Troy is survived by his loving wife Eveline of the home; step sons, Tommy Evers and Dennis Evers and wife Linda all of Ardmore; grandchildren, Jeremiah Evers and wife Sharlene of Lone Grove; Emelia Evers of Ardmore and great grandchildren, Clayton James Evers, Zackary Evers and Wyatt Evers and his special nephew Charlie Davis along with host of cousins. His brother W. A. Seedig preceded him death.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials in Troy's name be made to the New Hope Free Will Baptist Church, 9003 E. Prairie Valley Road, Lone Grove, Oklahoma 73443.
