Frank Goldie Bratcher

Frank Goldie Bratcher was born to James David Bratcher and Henrietta Buford, June 5, 1948, in St. Louis, Missouri. Frank was one of two children.

Frank accepted Christ at an early age, at Mount Bethel M. B. Church. Frank met and married Janice Bledsoe to this union a son was born Alphonso Bratcher.

Frank joined the the United States Marine Corps, June 11, 1965 and served until August 31, 1968. During his tour of duty Frank served in Vietnam. He received Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal and Purple Heart. After his Honorable Discharge Frank moved to Englewood, CA, there he worked for Prince Dodge, as Car Sales Manager. He also attended California State University, there he received a BA in Drama in 1977.

Frank returned back to St. Louis where he attended Forest Park Community College and met Joann Agers-Richard. January 12, 1994, he married Joann, who by then had become his best friend. They relocated to Ardmore, OK and joined Cornith Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Abraham Walton.

Frank had many titles over his lifetime of school and career, but the title he wore best and was most proud of was "A Child of the King". He will be missed amongst us but we know that this time he truly went home and there's no place like home!

Frank departed this life, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 2:15 pm. Love ones that cleared the path for Frank are his Father and Mother, James David Bratcher and Henrietta Buford and Wife of 27 years Joann Bratcher. Love ones that will miss Frank until they meet again: Son Alphonso Bratcher, Step-Son and Daughter-in-Love, Michael and Angela Richard, blended daughter Keysha Pollard-Licea. Grand and blended grandchildren; Justice, Xavier, Rhyen, Aaron, Brittany and Aysia. Great and blended great grandchildren: Skyler, Khamani, Khalaya, Brayden and Bradley. His brother, Emmett Bradley (Lawanda); Blended brothers and sisters James Bratcher Sr., Earline Walker (Otis), Alma Kissel (Kenneth) and Lima Neal (Ronald). Sister-in-laws, Jeanette Hutchins, Virginia Perry and Roberta Beird. Special Friends, Kevin and Cheryl Blount. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Corinth and Bethel Church Families and many friends.

The celebration of Frank's life will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021; beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Abraham Walton, Jr. and Reverend Michael Richard officiating. Interment will follow at Clearview Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Friday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
