Janice L. Chivers

Janice L. Chivers went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2021. She was born on October 12, 1954 in Wynnewood, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie E. Chivers Jr. and Helen M. Chivers (Vallery), brother Mike Chivers and sister Joan Keenan (Chivers).

Janice was born in Wynnewood, OK and grew up in Wilson, OK. Following graduation from Wilson High School she attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of the Beta Sigma chapter of the Phi Gamma Nu sorority. She graduated from OU in 1977 with a BS (Accounting) degree. She began her career in business in the baking industry in Oklahoma City and spent the rest of her career on the move in several different industries. She was an active member of the non-academic Beta Sigma Phi sorority, becoming a member-at-large in 2001. She had a love of travel and in addition to living, working and traveling throughout the country she also made several trips to Europe,

Her focus was on her career and she never married, but she had many professional and personal friends and loved to stay in touch with them. Her declining health forced her to retire to Oklahoma City in the early 2000's to be close to family. She was a caring and generous daughter, sister and aunt who would always do anything to help family. She will be remembered for that and her big laugh at family gatherings.

She fought her various health issues valiantly until her strength finally just wore out. She believed in her Lord and received his love and grace eagerly. She devoted her life to fulfilling God's design for her and went peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord.

She is survived by her brother Charlie E. Chivers III and his wife Beverly, sister Patty Loveless (Chivers) and husband Gordon, brother in law Kevin Keenan along with her 9 nieces and nephews: Derek, Dustin, Tess, Ashley, Charley, Josh, Melvin, Theresa and Melody as well as10 great nieces and nephews
