Antonio "Tony" Garcia Estrada

The son of the late Antonio Estrada and Sarah (Garcia) Estrada, Toney was born on July 26, 1941 in Santa Paula, California and passed away on October 7, 2021 in Ardmore, Oklahoma in the local hospital at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 11 days.

Tony was born and raised in Santa Paula, Ca. He was in Boy Scouts and later became an Eagle Scout. This experience showed him there was a big world for him to explore and he DID!

Tony was a Jack of all Trades. He was a mechanic, a magician, comedian, a musician that played multiple instruments, the most excellent cook. His many talents amazed everyone.

He worked in orchard's in So. Ca. for a short while. It wasn't his "cup of tea", so he became an auto body apprentice and then became a master at his craft. He built his own car called the enchilada. It was 2 front ends welded and painted perfectly. People couldn't tell if the car was coming or going. He was always known for his ability to craft something from his imagination that had never been seen before.

In the 60s, Tony took a job because he could fit through a 17 inch metal hoop. That job was building Polaris Missiles at Gene Autry Airpark. Later he moved back to Oakland, Ca where worked at a Dairy and then became a butcher for CJ Fagone's in San Fracisco, CA for many years. Then he opened his own meat delivery business. Where he worked with his son Tino for several years. Towards the end of his career he worked for Costco as a butcher and consultant.

While still in California, Tony was the governor of the Moose Lodge of San Francisco. He was deeply involved with the San Francisco Police Dept doing fund raising to support police officers and their families. Tony was the Commander of the Mariposa Hunters Point Yacht Club where he won several awards and raised money for various Bay Area charities. He also did some sky diving.

Tony retired to Ardmore, Ok to be near his children. He enjoyed his retirement by buying a small ranch with his beloved cows, horse and donkey. Tony brought joy to everyone he encountered. He lived life to the fullest. He was an extremely generous, kind and funny. He will be terribly missed by everyone who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him.

He is survived by his children, Staci Apala of Ringling,OK, Micheal Montoya of Pacifica, CA, Victor Webb of Kingman, AZ, Cindy Estrada of Ardmore, OK, Heidi Miller of Dickson, OK, Tino Estrada of Ardmore, OK, Tina Bennett of Mineola, Tx.; 25 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. by his brother Gilbert Estrada of Santa Paula, CA as well as his cherished sweetheart, Irene Frescas of Ardmore, OK Tony was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Sarah Estrada, wife, JoAnn Estrada his brother Pat & sister Mary and son Tony Jr.

Funeral services for Tony will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Idell officiating. The family will receive friends at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Monday evening from 6- 8 p.m.
