Lavada Jeffers

The Home Going celebration for Lavada Jeffers, 90, will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Tishomingo with Pastor Lawrence Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Wiley Cemetery.

A time of visitation and support for the family will be held Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The daughter of the late Ishmel and Sedonia Lewis Gordon, Lavada was born September 3, 1931 at Wiley and went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2021.

Lavada was raised in Wiley, Oklahoma, and attended Tishomingo Schools. She worked as a private housekeeper and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church.

Lavada was preceded in death by her parents, her son Raymond Dotson; brothers, Joe and Cleo Gordon, and her sisters, Juline Finley, Dorell Gordon, Juanita Williamson and Ella Mae Pirtle.

Leaving to cherish her legacy are her sons, Vincent Dotson and wife Renita; Martin Dotson and wife Roslyn, Danny Dotson; Arthur Ray Stevenson; and Anthony Jeffers; daughter Renee Dotson; brothers, Isiah, Lincoln and Ralph Gordon; her sister Ethel Casey and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
