Celebration of Life for Oscar Pickens Jr.

On September 4, 1941, in Newport, Oklahoma, a handsome baby boy was born to Oscar and Pearlie Pickens. They named him OSCAR, after his father. He was the eighth child of twelve children. Oscar accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Oscar attended Central High School in Woodford, Oklahoma and graduated from Graham High School in Graham, Oklahoma. Oscar moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1965 and married Wilma Rice in June 1965.

Oscar held various jobs including a lineman at Wonder Bread, maintenance engineer for Tulsa Housing Authority, Sunset Apartments and Westview Clinic in Tulsa. Oscar was well known for being a handyman and repairman. On December 25, 2021, Oscar transitioned from this life to be with our Lord in Heaven. Oscar’s parents and ten siblings preceded him in death. Oscar leaves to cherish his memory, two Sons: Anthony (Andree` Willis) of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Keith Pickens, Sr. of Tulsa. One Daughter: Amie M. Harris of McKinney, Texas. One Sister, Flora Brown of Wichita Falls, Texas. Oscar had Six Grandchildren, One great grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

There will be two services, the first one Wednesday, January 5, 2022, 11:00am at Shiloh Baptist Church, located at 1124 N MLK Jr Blvd in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The second service will be in Woodford, Oklahoma, Saturday, January 8, 2022, 11:00am at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 2015 Frontier Rd. Burial (Resting Place) is at Hickory Cemetery, Ardmore. Masks will be required inside the church and throughout the Celebration of Life.
