Earline LaVerne Smith

And in the early morning hours of Dec. 20, 2019 Jesus reached down and took GG by the hand, leading her to her heavenly home.

Earline LaVerne Smith was born Oct. 17, 1927 in Woodford, Okla., to Sill Vester and Elnora Peirson Smith. She grew up and attended school in the Woodford area. On April 14, 1943, she married J O Greco in Ardmore. While he was stationed at the Air Force Base. They later moved to Duncan but returned to the Ardmore area to retire in the early 80s.

GG was a home maker. She helped raise all her babies when they weren’t traveling with friends and she worked a few years in Lloyd’s Ladies Apparel but most of all she studied her bible and she taught Sunday School for many, many years here and in Duncan as well. She remained active in her church, CrystalRock Cathedral, until she was no longer able.

In heaven, she now joins her parents, her husband, Julie; her sisters, Delores Adams and husband, James, Elzora Owen and husband, Fount; and a brother, Johnny Smith and his wife Elsie; along with many other family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Greco and wife Carol; grandchildren; Julene Potter and husband Kirk and Clayton Greco and wife Christi; great-grandchildren, Meagan Sales, Cotey Bowman, Joseph Potter, Elijah Potter and Connor Jade Greco; and great-great-grandchildren, Shayla, Camdyn, Jacobi, Oliver and Adeline. She is also survived by three sister-in-laws and many nieces, nephews and a host of precious friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C Street NW, Ardmore, OK 73401. We will forever be grateful for the staff who provided excellent care and support.

The family would also like to thank the staff of The Lodge for their years of excellent care and friendship and to her personal assistants, Lou Ella, Kourtney, Jordan and a special friends, Beata and Maria. These were the people that helped our journey be a little easier and GG was truly blessed by their care.
