Marion Dean Scribner, passed at the age of 81 on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020 in Ardmore. His family has planned private services at a later date. Cremation under the direction of Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home.
Marion was born Feb. 28, 1938 in Powell, Okla., to Isaac Scribner and Gladys (Bristow) Scribner. He attended and graduated class of 1957 from Lone Grove High School. In 1963 he enlisted in the United States Army; where he served with the 18th Infantry. He was stationed overseas in Germany and returned to Fort Riley, Kan., receiving his honorable discharge, Sept. 27, 1963. Marion married Barbara Ann Dollar in Gainesville, Texas on Feb. 13, 1981. Working at Weber Air Craft for a while and then for a short time in the oil field. He began his career at Lynn Boyer Electric and he retired after 25 years. He was not one to sit around so he started driving a pick up van for the Rail Road. He was a member of Light House Church of God and later New Hope Church of God. He loved to go dancing and to fish; often would take his family fishing. He will be remembered as a good husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Scribner, sister, Geneva Wales, granddaughter Brinlee Blanton.
Marion is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Scribner of the home. Son, Brian Scribner and wife Cathey, son, Danny Welch, daughter Melisa Blanton, daughter Michelle Wall and husband Steven. Eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
