Ardmore native Carolyn Sue Morton passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at her residence at the age of 72 years and nine months.
Carolyn was born here, May 6, 1947 to the late Billy Burton Wilkes and Hazel (Miller) Wilkes. During the time her father served in the U.S. Navy during the 50's the family lived in California returning here in 1959. She was a graduate of Dickson High School, the class of 1965.
Carolyn and Willard Edward "Buddy" Morton were married May 27, 1965 at Ardmore, and had celebrated their 54th anniversary last year.
The mother of a son, Kevin and daughter, Cheryl, Carolyn was a stay-at-home mom and wife that enjoyed taking care of her family. A kind and gentle person, Carolyn especially enjoyed the time spent with her family, friends, and of course shopping.
Carolyn is now reunited with her parents, sisters, Melanie Wilkes and twin sister, Marilyn Beard, son-in-law, Ricardo Urban and her dog, Punkie.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Willard E. "Buddy" Morton, her son, Kevin Morton, her daughter, Cheryl Morton and special friend, Clint Vernon; Aunt and Uncle, Buck and Trudy Miller; her brother-in-law, Roger Beard, nephews, Randy Beard, Christopher Morton, and Brett Morton, niece Shelly Williams; by her fur babies, Missey and Lacey and by her grand dogs, Molly, Maddie, Baby, Kato and Jake; other extended family and many friends that will forever more cherish precious memories.
The family extends their special thanks to the Ardmore Fire Department, the Ardmore Police Department and Southern Oklahoma Ambulance Service for their timely care and concern.
At Carolyn's request there will be no services. Cremation-With-Care was selected and entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory. Words of comfort may be sent to the family online at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
