Services for Philip Denis Osborne, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 15, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Mr. Larry S. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with the assistance of Larry St. Clair, Robert, Jason, and Joseph Freeman, David Osborne Jr., Travis Osborne.
A time of visitation and support for the family will be at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 7 p.m.
The son of the late Alvis Taylor and Elizabeth Anne Davis Osborne, Philip was born Nov. 3, 1944 in White Plains, N.Y. and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 10, 2020 at a local hospital.
Philip moved to Ardmore when he was 14. He chose here for its small town feel and location between two major cities. He graduated from Central State University and began working at the Colvert Dairy. He later worked for the First Christian Church as maintenance. He and the former Carolyn Tyner were married Oct. 21, 1972 here in Ardmore. Carolyn preceded him in death Feb. 15, 2019.
Philip will be remembered most for his Sunday morning radio show on KVSO. He also worked for the station on KKAJ. They attended Full Gospel Church of Pauls Valley with Pastor Tom Schindler.
Philip is survived by his son David Osborne, grandsons, Travis and David Osborne, Jr.; granddaughter Carolyn Osborne; great-grandsons Michael Pierce, Isaiah Osborne and Aiden Smith; great-granddaughters Kyliann Osborne and Abigail Smith; sister-in-law Marilyn Johnson and husband Larry; nieces Cleta Freeman and Valerie St. Clair; nephew Larry St. Clair, uncles Clarence "Salty" Bridgman and Doyle Hick, his aunt Peggy Bridgman, and a host of great nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Russell John Osborne.
