A private family service for Jean Arline Drew will be conducted at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church’s columbarium at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 22. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jean Drew was born March 16, 1925 to John S. and Mabel (Feeser) Mumma in Harrisburg, Pa. She passed from this life on May 15, 2020 at the age of 95.
Jean was a graduate of the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore, MD and held an R.N. degree. She attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles before her marriage to Howard Drew on Sept. 25, 1948 at the Valley Forge Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, Pa. The Drew family has lived in six states.
Jean volunteered many years for the Memorial Hospital of Southern Oklahoma (now Mercy Hospital) and served on their Auxiliary Board of Directors. She was on the American Red Cross Board and was an active member of the disaster team. She served on the Ardmore Day Nursery Board and was actively involved as a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church serving on the altar guild and vestry.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents John and Mabel Mumma.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Howard Drew; daughters Susan Boelens and her husband John of Keller, Texas; Wendy Lemmon and her husband Charles of Dallas; and Robyn Drew of Dallas; grandchildren Lee Boelens and his wife Jamie; Melissa Taylor and her husband Robert; Katie Norwood and her husband Brent; Julia Halterman and her husband Darrell; Haley Kassab; and Travis Kassab; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church.
