The family will hold a memorial service for Brian Ray Cross, 52, Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Tolbert officiating.
The son of Billy Ray Cross and Sharon Louise Prater Messenger, Brian was born February 7, 1968 in Oklahoma City and went to be with is Lord and Savior January 7, 2021.
A graduate of Parkview School for the Blind, Brian loved to play the trumpet. He was a member of the Texas State School for the Blind Band, and competed in the European Competition with them. He was a member of the Oklahoma Blind Athletic Association and won a silver medal in the US competition in the 13 mile run.
He and the former Kaylee Dawn Brickey were married April 6, 2019 in Ardmore. He worked for the IRS as an information and referral Agent.
Brian was always interested in weather and metrology. He was a storm spotter for 45 years and became a member of the American Metrology Society. He loved to sit on his porch, enjoy his coffee and watch the storms roll in. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his loving wife Kaylee, stepson Lonnie Hopkins, Jr.; mother Sharon Messenger and husband Steven; father Billy Cross and wife Janet; brothers, Stacy Cross and wife Kyndal and Brandon Cross; sisters, Amber and Misty Messenger; Ginger Shockley and husband Ron; Megan Lemons and husband Matt; Allison Williams and husband Scotty; Heather Cross and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
