Brass Transit – tribute band

7:30 p.m., Aug. 8, 2025

The tribute band paying homage to legendary band Chicago will open the new season. Greening said The Goddard Center has brought in a couple of tribute bands, and it has resonated with the public.

“We are just trying different ones, and this just happens to be a tribute band that plays all of Chicago’s music,” he said. “They are bringing down all of the kit and caboodle. It is not just a rhythm section and singer. They are bringing the full horn line.”

Greening said it should be a good show, and the band sounds spot-on for Chicago. Past performances can be found on YouTube.

“When I heard them, I was like, ‘This is the band we are bringing in,’” he said.

The following day, The Goddard Center will continue to celebrate the new season with a Battle of the Bands that will feature genres from bluegrass to metal. Each band will play a 15-minute set with the goal of becoming the audience’s favorite. The band that receives the most votes will take home part of the ticket sales.

After a rock and americana performance, The Goddard Center will shift gears at the beginning of October with a classical music performance. Greening said De Souza is a Steinway artist who is classically trained but will put her own spin on some of the music.

De Souza is based out of Houston and has appeared across the world. She also teaches classes as the Mitchell Scholar in Residence at Moore’s School of Music at the University of Houston.

OKC Children’s Theatre — Children’s theatre

The Oklahoma City Children’s Theatre will arrive in Ardmore for a family-friendly event. Greening said the theatre will perform an adaptation of Cinderella. There will also be an educational component during the day.

Vienna Boys Choir – Classical

In terms of choir, the Vienna Boys Choir is one of the most recognizable names in the world. Greening said you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else where you can see the choir for $28. When given the opportunity to host the choir, he jumped at the opportunity.

“I think that will be another great addition to the concert series for us,” he said. “Just try to keep a good variety of acts coming in just to make sure that we are having touchpoints for the community. Just not one lane but really finding avenues for everyone to engage in.”

Tommy Dorsey Orchestra – Jazz

7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, 2025

For fans of this season’s Saturday Night Jukebox, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra will be right up your alley. In fact, Greening said the drummer from Saturday Night Jukebox recommended the orchestra. There will be seasonal songs along with jazz.

“They are going to do a Christmas show,” Greening said. “They are going to do standard swing tunes but will also do some Christmas charts.”

King Cabbage Brass Band – Dixieland

“They are a brass band,” he said. “A fun kind of New Orleans flavor brass band. They are just so much fun.”

Greening said the performance will be a jeans and T-shirt kind of evening in which you will want to grab a cold one.

Zak Mirz – Magician

Zak Mirz is a rising star who has his first special, “Ticket for One” streaming on YouTube. In addition to booking performances, Mirz is also competing on this season of America’s Got Talent.

“From what I understand, he is doing well,” Greening said. “He is an illusionist, and he is current. He leans into using technology and did a whole show where it was like he was Facetiming to keep the audience engaged with what is going on in the theatre.”

Wanda King Blues Band – Blues

King, who is located out of Dallas, has been performing for a while. In March, she will bring her full band to The Goddard Center for an evening of the blues. The band consists of 12 members, including a four-piece horn section.

Greening said he had received feedback about bringing a blues band to Ardmore and was happy to deliver.

“She will rip out some backbeat blues,” he said. “I am really excited.”

Bonerama – Rock

7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026

The season will end with a bang as Bonerama lights up the stage with its own brand of classic rock.

“This is a group, depends on who they bring, usually there are three or four trombone players, playing with a full backline, bass, drum and guitar,” Greening said. “They play anything from originals to pop charts. They play all over the country.”

Greening said they are kind of a rock group that will put microphones on their trombones and run them through a guitar processor. He had them perform for an arts festival in Orlando and were very well received.

Bonerama will also have an educational element while in Ardmore, Greening said they will try and have a trombone day with area schools, who will play one song during the show.

Tickets for the shows will go on sale July 1. Greening said there are packages in addition to sponsorship opportunities available for the upcoming season.

Additional music offerings

Greening said The Goddard Center is working on partnering with Buddy Lane, who performs at Marvin’s Place Art Gallery, to do a free lunchtime concert series once a month. The plan is to have it in the galleries or the sculpture gardens.

The Brown Bag Lunch Series would also include food trucks outside The Goddard Center.

“If people experience it and get out and try it, then find out they like it, it is a good outlet,” he said. “I just got to get them to come out and do it.”
