Sami Skelly hit two home runs and drove in three runs and Hanna Beth Matherly tossed a one-hitter for Plainview in a 5-1 win over Blanchard in the Chisholm Trail Classic in Shawnee on Thursday, giving the Lady Indians their first win of the season.

Matherly took a no-hitter into the fifth inning, where Blanchard tallied one run on one hit and took advantage of two Plainview errors.

Matherly and Leah Selensky each drove in one run for the Lady Indians (1-2). Mackenzie Williams contributed a hit.

Later Thursday, Plainview pitcher Brittney Dunlap kept the Lady Indians in the game with her arm.

Base-running mistakes and scoring one run with the bases loaded three times came back to hurt the squad in a 3-1 loss to Elk City.

Plainview returns to Shawnee today for two games: 2:30 p.m. vs. Bethel and 4 vs. Newcastle.

On Saturday, the Lady Indians are slated to play Perry at 10 a.m. and Mount St. Mary at 1 p.m.
