Henry added another second-quarter block as Turner won 70-17 Thursday at Turner High School.
The pressure defense proved to be the difference, as Turner (2-0) scored 13 consecutive points following Madison Mapp's hoop to open the game.
Parker — who had a game-high 18 points — hit a 3-pointer from the left corner pushed Turner's lead to 18-7. She added four free throws, a layup in transition and a mid-range jumper during her nine-point second quarter.
Mapp led Springer (0-2) with nine points.
She picked up her second foul with 6:33 to play in the first quarter. Springer coach Traci Dragg allowed her to play through it.
Henry opened the second half with a hoop.

Turner scored five of its first seven points after offensive rebounds.

On the other end, the Falcons extended their 2-3 defense higher on the perimeter, causing problems for Springer.

Turner senior Dillon Mathis led all scorers with 17 points as the Falcons displayed a deliberate offensive pace in their 43-16 win.

Turner (1-1) displayed the type of patience and shot selection that coach Shane Wolfe wants to see. He also praised Mathis' leadership.

The Falcons won the battle on the offensive glass 11-5, converting those chances into 11 points against Springer's two.

"I thought we played well offensively,” Wolfe said.

Garrett McGuire led Springer (0-2) with six points.
