ROGERS, Ark. — Plainview senior Kyleigh Norris capped off her prep cross country career this past Saturday in style, placing 11th for Oklahoma in the Arkansas-Oklahoma All Star Meet.
Norris completed the 5-kilometer course in a time of 19 minutes, 58.34 seconds.
“She did really well,” Plainview coach Jerry Naylor said. “This was a tough meet. That was a meet with Oklahoma and Arkansas, So, she did pretty well.”
The meet was held at Rogers High School, which was also the site of the Arkansas prep state cross country meet.
Four runners from Plainview represented Oklahoma in Arkansas. In addition to Norris, Ali Harris took 30th in 21:05. Caroline Harris finished 36th in 22:42. Ben Hicks ran to 45th place in the boys race in a time of 18:26.
Medals were awarded to the top 25 finishers.
Naylor described the course as “deceivingly tough.”
“It has a lot of curves in it,” he said.
Arkansas swept the team titles. In the boys race, Arkansas accumulated 87 points to Oklahoma’s 89, edging its counterpart to the west by two points. In the girls race, Arkansas finished with 25 points to Oklahoma’s 34.
The top nine finishers in each race from each state accounted for the team score.
