MARIETTA — Marietta’s girls basketball team heads into the holiday break feeling good about its defense.

Ashley Flores led all Lady Indians in scoring with 13 points and Marietta held Silo to seven or fewer points in all four quarters Thursday night, cruising to a 49-22 victory inside Marietta High School Gymnasium.

Logan Willis netted at least one field goal in each of the fourth quarters, on her way to finishing with 12 points. Reagan Bean scored seven of her nine points during the second half. 

Marietta found itself in a nip-and-tuck contest during the first half. 

The Lady Indians doubled up the Lady Rebels 10-5 in the first quarter. Marietta outscored Silo (1-7) 9-7 during the second quarter. The Lady Indians (4-3) led 19-12 at halftime.

Marietta’s offense began to click during the second half, outscoring Silo 30-10 over that span of play.
