He intentionally missed the final charity toss, got his own rebound and made a 3-pointer to send it to overtime.
Velma-Alma prevailed in the extra period, winning 50-44 Friday at Healdton High School.
It is the Comets’ second road win in as many nights.
Miller had a game-high 17 points for Healdton (4-4), which did not score in overtime. Its three-game winning streak ended.
Brodie Williams had a team-high 14 for Velma — including three first-quarter 3-pointers.
The Bulldogs host Empire at 8 p.m. on Jan. 5.
