COMANCHE — Not many teams have been able to keep pace with Class 3A’s No. 3 Comanche.
Comanche opened Tuesday evening’s Lake Country Conference showdown against Madill on a 29-0 first-quarter run and never looked back in earning a 74-30 victory over the Lady Wildcats.
And Comanche did it without having to rely on junior standout Misty Dossey. She scored just four points in the opening frame, and 14 overall. Carly Richardson caught fire behind the 3-point line with five treys, on her way to 17 points. Brooklyn Bain netted 15 of her 17 points during the first half.
The Lady Wildcats came alive in the second quarter thanks to some good marksmanship behind the arc. Madison Jowers made two 3-pointers during the stanza. She finished with six points. Rylee Ruff sank a trey of her own. She totaled five points.
Comanche improved to 8-0 with the win, while Madill fell to 0-5.
Madill is off until Jan. 5, when the Lady Cats open play in the Byng Tournament.
