The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association on Wednesday released district assignments in fast-pitch softball for Class 5A for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school years.

Ardmore remains in District 5A-2, along with Altus, Duncan, Lawton Eisenhower and Lawton MacArthur. Gone are Noble (District 5A-1), Shawnee (District 5A-3) and Western Heights (District 5A-1). Piedmont and Santa Fe South are newcomers.

The Lady Tigers finished as the 5A-2 district runner-up this past season and hosted a regional tournament for the first time since 2005.

Ardmore finished the 2016 fall season with a 22-11 record. 

The Lady Tigers sprung a 3-1 upset of two-time defending Class 4A state champion Chickasha on Sept. 23. 


Class 5A Fast-Pitch District

District 5A-1: Carl Albert, Del City, El Reno, Guthrie, Guymon, Noble, Western Heights and Woodward. 

District 5A-2: Altus, Ardmore, Duncan, Lawton Eisenhower, Lawton MacArthur, Piedmont and Santa Fe South.

District 5A-3: Claremore, Coweta, Edison Prep, Glenpool, Pryor, Shawnee and Skiatook. 

District 5A-4: Bishop Kelley, Collinsville, Durant, McAlester, Memorial (Tulsa), Nathan Hale and Tahlequah.
