The last two head football coaches that Ethan Moore has played for at Lone Grove High School went on to play sports at East Central University.
Moore will now be following in the footsteps of first-year Longhorns head coach Trey Owens and former Lone Grove coach Jeremy Turner.
Moore, a senior, announced on his Twitter account on Tuesday his verbal commitment to play football in Ada for the ECU Tigers.
Lone Grove won its first two outright district titles Moore’s sophomore and junior seasons and advanced to the state semifinals for the first time in program history in 2015.
Moore was a standout on both sides of the ball his senior season.
He finished with 330 receiving yards on 23 receptions and had 54 tackles, one sack and caused two fumbles, solidifying his status as a first-team selection on The All-Ardmoreite first team for his accomplishments on the field during the 2016 season.
Moore caught passes from fellow Lone Grove senior Garrett Lemons, who signed with ECU on Dec. 16, when the latter Longhorn announced that he will play baseball.
