KINGSTON — Kingston left no doubt Friday which team will hold the Sneakers and Shoes trophies for at least one more year.

The trophies are awarded to the winners after the conclusion of each game and will remain with that team until the opposition wins a road game. The shoes series dates back to the 1970s. A gold shoe is on the trophy. The sneakers trophy originates to 2006.

Class 3A’s No. 11 Kingston cruised to a 66-40 win at Kingston Multi-Purpose Activity Center.

The Redskins led 46-16 at halftime.

Balanced scoring carried the Redskins (15-3) to their seventh consecutive win.

Nine different Kingston players scored in the victory. Conner Brister led the way with a game-high 18 points, including three 3-pointers. RJ Weeks netted nine points. Jacob Germany chipped in eight points.

Kingston shot the ball well behind the arc, finishing the contest with eight 3’s to Madill’s five treys.
