COMANCHE — Wesley McClendon scored 40 points as Comanche defeated Marietta 72-70.

With five 3-pointers, Marietta’s Trace Stewart scored 23 points to pace the Indians. Marietta scored 27 points in the fourth period, but couldn’t get a sufficient number of stops defensively to earn the win.

Comanche (10-7, 2-2 Lake Country Conference) withstood Marietta’s seven fourth-quarter 3-pointers — three by Stewart.

Trey Mayes added 15 for Marietta (14-7), which lost its second conference game.

The Indians did not attempt a free throw in the final period.

Meanwhile, the Comanche Lady Indians defeated Marietta 68-34. Comanche, the Class 3A No. 4 team, improved to 16-0 and 4-0 in Lake Country Conference play.

SILO 93, WILSON 72

WILSON —  The No. 11 Silo Rebels withstood Wilson senior Hunter Chapman’s 26 points to earn a 93-72 win Friday. Chapman scored 12 of his points in the fourth quarter.

The Rebels, however, won each of the initial three quarters. Silo hit four 3-pointers in the opening quarter, winning it 23-18. Five Wilson (8-9) players scored in the opening period: Kaden Hunziker netted seven, Chapman scored four, Carson Fulton added a 3-pointer while Bryce Ferguson and Clay Hodges each scored two points.

Silo (19-4) led 41-32 at half. The Rebels hit four more 3-pointers in the third period to win the quarter, 27-14.

Logan Schaaf scored all 10 of his points in the final period, as the teams went back and forth: Wilson won the quarter, 26-25.

Jake Hamilton led Silo with 24 points.
