In Sulphur on Tuesday night, Springer’s girls basketball team had little trouble with Oklahoma School for the Deaf on Tuesday, jumping out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter, on its way to earning a 48-11 victory on Tuesday at the G.T. (Tom) Daugherty Activities Building in Sulphur.
The victory was the 10th of the season for the Lady Cardinals (10-13).
Madison Mapp had another big game for Springer with 21 points. Alle Schmidt hit double figures in scoring with 11 points.
Savannah Schlegel paced OSD with eight points.
“Fortunately for us, it was a more relaxed game, where everyone got to play from the beginning of the game,” Springer coach Traci Dragg said. “Our last few games have been pretty intense. It was nice to see some of my girls on the bench get more time on the court and get the opportunity to gain some experience.”
