Ardmore police reportedly took a woman wanted for child neglect into custody Wednesday.

Ardmore Police Department Sgt. Larry Payne said police began searching for Charmaine Bruner, 41, of Ardmore around two months ago in December, 2019 after Bruner and three other local women gave birth around the same time to children that allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

Payne said Bruner reportedly gave birth around Nov. 29. Bruner and her child both allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine at the time.

The three other women, Racheal Ned, 22, Brittany Cravatt, 30, and Megan Messenger, 28, were taken into custody for child neglect between December and January. However, police were unable to make contact with Bruner at the time.

Officers located Bruner on Feb. 26 in the 200 block of Commerce St., Payne said. “They saw her out in public and recognized her. They confirmed the warrant and made contact with her there and she was taken into custody.”

Bruner reportedly bonded out of jail Thursday, Feb. 27 and a preliminary conference is scheduled for April 2. The three other women will be appearing in court on March 5.
