APD seeking public’s assistance in locating suspect in pedestrian hit and run
UPDATE: The suspect has been located and is in custody.
The Ardmore Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in an alleged pedestrian involved hit and run incident.
At around 10:38 p.m. on March 27, officers were dispatched to a local motel, located at 120 Holiday Dr. NW, in reference to a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit and run incident, according to a press release from APD.
Upon arrival, officers were advised that the suspect had left the scene in his vehicle and fled the area.
Through further investigation and numerous witness statements, officers determined that the victim, a 28-year-old male, was allegedly intentionally struck by a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Adam Lynn Sampson of Ardmore.
The victim reportedly suffered severe head injuries as a result of the incident, according to the press release.
The vehicle Sampson had allegedly been driving was later found abandoned in rural Carter County and recovered by law enforcement. However, investigators have not been able to locate Sampson at this time.
The department is currently seeking an arrest warrant for Sampson on the charge of assault and battery with a deadly weapon and is asking that the public help locate him.
According to Carter County court records, Sampson has previously been convicted for burglary in the second degree, domestic assault and battery and obstructing an officer.
