Ardmore woman facing charges for child neglect
An Ardmore woman is facing charges for child neglect after allegedly exposing her children to drugs and failing to properly supervise them, resulting in one child’s injuries.
On March 26 area law enforcement reportedly took 40-year-old Jami Nicole Patterson into custody after finding that her three children, all under the age of 12, had allegedly been exposed to methamphetamine, according to Carter County court documents.
Patterson was allegedly under the influence of methamphetamine at the time, which court records state caused her to not properly supervise her minor children.
During that time, the youngest child was reportedly bitten in the face by a dog, according to court documents.
Patterson was transported to the Carter County jail for the felony charge of child neglect and the misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of CDS (Methamphetamine) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Patterson reportedly bonded out of jail on March 30 and a preliminary conference is scheduled for April 23.
If found guilty, Patterson could face up to life imprisonment in the custody of the department of corrections, up to one year of imprisonment in a county jail or a fine of up to $5,000, or both a fine and imprisonment.
