Ardmoreite Nikki Renee Holt, 59, passed away peacefully April 4, 2020 at Ardmore's Mercy Hospital. Daughter of Charles Woodrow and Billie June Rushing, Nikki was born July 20, 1960 in Ardmore. She grew up here and graduated from Ardmore High School, the class of 1978.

Nikki married the love of her life, Michael Ray Holt, May 26, 1990 in Dickson, where they made their home. The parents of two children, Shane and Candace Ann, they would have celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary this year.

Nikki was a nurse and had worked at the Ardmore Veterans Center for thirteen years. She had also worked in home health for Ideal, Carter and Mays Home Health; Nikki was a devoted caretaker. She enjoyed traveling and seeing the country, but most of all she loved the time spent with her family and friends. She always had a smile on her face and a joke on her lips, she loved to laugh.

Survivors, that will forever cherish precious memories, include her beloved husband, Michael Ray Holt of the home; her mother, Billie June Rushing of Ardmore; brother, Les Rushing of Ardmore; her children, son, Shane Holt of Dickson; her daughter, Candace Ann Smith, Loveland, Colo.; her grandchildren, Evan Thogmartin of Dickson, Ethan Thogmartin and Evie Smith of Loveland, Colo., Hayden Holt of Dickson; her sister-in-law, Cynthia McDonnell of Ardmore; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nikki was preceded in death by her father, Charles Woodrow Rushing; her in-laws, Dearl and Shirley Holt and brother-in-law, Stephen Holt.

Nikki was learning about Jehovah God and the hope that he has given us in the Bible about a future resurrection at John 5: 28-29. She really loved what she was learning and her hope was to be baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and to teach others the truth from God's word, the Bible.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mercy Cancer Center and Mercy Hospital for the compassionate care provided Nikki over this past year; and for their kindness and thoughtfulness shown to our family.

Due to the coronavirus, memorial services are pending. Cremation-With-Care was provided by Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory. You are encouraged to sends words of comfort to the family online at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
