’Suspicious’ vehicle fire under investigation in Ardmore
The Ardmore Fire Department and Ardmore Police Department are working together to investigate an incident in which two vehicles caught on fire early Monday morning.
Ardmore Fire Marshall Tim Lee said firefighters received a call at around 1:30 a.m. regarding two vehicles on Persimmon Lane that were on fire.
“The homeowners had the fire extinguished by the time that the firefighters got there and then they called me in to investigate the fire,” Lee said.
Officers from the Ardmore Police Department also arrived on scene to assist in the initial investigation, which Lee said lasted for a couple of hours.
“Some of the circumstances of the fire led us to believe that it was a suspicious fire,” Lee said. Both vehicles reportedly received substantial damage from the fire.
Lee said investigators are currently following up on a few leads, however, no suspects have been identified at this time. The investigation is ongoing. “We’re seeing what we can come up with at this time,” he said.
