Gayle Ann McPherson

Daughter of the late Elmer Price and Nora (Carpenter) Price, Gayle was born on March 19, 1936 in Ardmore. She passed away on April 25, 2020 at a local nursing facility at the age of 84 years, 1 month and 6 days.

At the age of 15, Gayle and Hugh Hobson were married on June 10, 1951 and were the parents of two sons, Mike and Ronald. They had been married for 30 years when Hugh passed away on Nov. 27, 1981.

Gayle and Eddie McPherson were married on Oct. 11, 1985 at Gainesville, Texas, and were married for 34 years.

A member of the Marsden Baptist Church, Gayle grew up in Ardmore and had lived the Marsden Community for many years. A longtime employee of the Marietta Cookie Factory, Gayle retired as a supervisor after her 36 years of service.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gayle always enjoyed and looked forward to the times spent with her family, cooking and sharing the many good times with them.

Gayle is survived by her husband, Eddie; sons, Mike Hobson and wife Jacque; Ronald Hobson and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Joseph Hobson; Laura Pender and husband, Cooter; Madison Dial and husband Matt, and Dayton Hobson; great-grandchildren, Braylee, Braydyn and Braydee Hobson; and her sister, Nadine Kistler and husband, Charles; step-son, Dale McPherson and wife, Debra and step-grandson, Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Hugh.

A time of visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Private family services will be held in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow at McAlister Cemetery with Michael and Charles Campbell, Joseph and Dayton Hobson, Cooter Pender and Matt Dial serving as pallbearers.
