Michelin donates 5,000 masks to Mercy Hospital Ardmore.

Local medical facilities and essential workers recently received much needed face masks courtesy of Michelin. The company donated 20,000 surgical masks to 14 different organizations in the Ardmore area as part of a nationwide project to distribute 700,000 masks to the communities in which Michelin North America operates.

Site Communications Manager Holly Nguyen said Michelin is focused on the long-term health, safety and well-being of employees, their families and the surrounding communities.

At the start of the initiative, the company identified the needs in communities across the United States and Canada where they have a strong presence. In addition to the masks delivered locally, communities in Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Nova Scotia and Quebec in Canada all received masks as well.

Ardmore recipients included the Carter County Health Department which received 2,550 masks, Mercy Hospital Ardmore which received 5,000, Ideal Home Care which received 1,500, and Ardmore Regional Surgery Center which received 1,000.

Michelin also reached out to other local communities to provide masks to medical facilities as well. In Sulphur, Arbuckle Memorial Hospital received 5,000 masks. Mercy Hospital Ada received 1,000, and Mercy Hospital Tishomingo received 2,000 masks.

Nguyen said by donating masks to healthcare workers in the communities in which Michelin operates and by providing masks to its employees across the world, Michelin is playing an active part in the global battle against the COVID-19 pandemic
