Southern Oklahoma will probably be seeing another wet week. According to Matthew Day, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Norman, the rain will likely been today, and the chance rain and storms will continue through Sunday.

“I see showers start drifting through the area in the early hours of Tuesday morning,” Day said. “The highest chances will be between midnight through around noon, and you’ll see some lingering chances of around 40% throughout the afternoon. Most of that should be moving out by early evening.”

Day said Tuesday’s round of precipitation could bring between a quarter of an inch to half an inch of rain accompanied by some potential thunder, but he did not not expect any severe storms.

“You have a slight chance for some severe storms for Wednesday morning, and right now it looks like Wednesday also looks like the day with the highest chance for any severe storms,” Day said. “But there will likely be a chance of on and off showers and thunderstorms for the next several days.”

Day said temperatures will be the coolest today with a high in the low 70s. Wednesday through Friday will likely see low temperatures in the mid 60s with highs in the low to mid 80. Saturday will likely be another cooler day with daytime highs in the mid 70s.
