Ask them anything; Local photographers to offer open forum Saturday at Marvin's Place
Downtown Ardmore is home to many wonderful opportunities to interact with art installations of all kinds. This weekend, an open forum featuring three award-winning local photographers will be offered at Marvin's Place, an art gallery with its own hometown history.
The gallery itself will be open for its regular Saturday hours of noon to 6 p.m., with two floors of art to peruse. Photographers Sharon Burris, Rudy Ellis and L.A. Scott will be available beginning at 1 p.m. to talk about their work and answer questions from other artists and art lovers of all ages.
"We planned this event for this weekend because there is an art crawl all over the state," said Sharon Burris. The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition planned the state wide arts celebration to feature more than 200 artists across the state.
The local forum's featured artists are all from Ardmore. "We plan to be informal," Burris said. "We all have very different ideas and techniques, even though we're all photographers." There will also be opportunities for those interested in photography to ask questions. Burris said the event is open to the all ages and is free to attend.
Marvin's Place Art Gallery is located downtown at 103 West Main Street in Ardmore. For more information about the gallery or future events, contact them at (580) 798-5046 or marvinsplace.gallery
