Drowning victim recovered from Lake Texoma late Wednesday night

A Texas man drowned at Lake Texoma late Wednesday night.

At around 8 p.m. on June 9, Christopher Carrillo, 32, of Arlington, Texas, reportedly swam out to the boundary ropes at the East Burns Run swim beach at the lake in Bryan County, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

While swimming, Carrillo reportedly went under the water and never resurfaced. Using side scan sonar, the Colbert Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team recovered the victim’s body from the lake at around 11 p.m.

The victim was transported to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City. According to OHP, the victim was not wearing a life vest.
