A suspect in a local shooting incident will reportedly be charged with shooting with intent to kill following treatment of his injuries.

Ardmore police began investigating the incident around 10 a.m. Thursday after responding to the 800 block of 3rd Ave. SW in reference to a possible shooting. Eddy Booker, 78, of Ardmore had reportedly gotten into an altercation with another elderly subject regarding money.

“It was an argument over some money that he stated that he was owed,” said APD Sgt. Larry Payne.

During the altercation, Booker allegedly fired a single shot at the other subject. However, the other subject was not injured. Booker sustained an injury to his shoulder and was transported to the hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries as of Friday.

“The minor injuries that occurred were a result of the altercation that took place, despite a shot being fired,” Payne said.

After Booker is released, Payne said he will be taken into custody for shooting with intent to kill and charges will be sent over to the district attorney’s office.
