Mona Marguerite Wilson King Mitchell, age 95, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, in Ardmore. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020, in The Chapel in Griffin~Hillcrest with Pastor Donny Custar officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Marguerite was born on Nov. 23, 1924, to Ernest C. Wilson and Sue Frances (Poindexter) Wilson, at Gravelly, Ark. She was a graduate of Mannsville High School with a 4.0 grade point average. She married Melvin D. King on Feb. 14, 1946, in Mannsville. The couple then moved to Ardmore where they started their family in 1946. They got divorced in 1986. She married Harley Mitchell in Oakland, in 2001 and they divorced in 2007. She was a bookkeeper for King Auto Sales and later at Arbuckle Supply and retired in 1979. Marguerite loved the Lord and is a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ardmore. Marguerite loved oil painting; she even sold some of her paintings. She loved sewing, quilting, and tending to her flowers.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Treva Pennington and Wilma Meador, and one brother, Glen Wilson.

Marguerite is survived by her son, Jerry King and wife Jennifer of Edmond, daughter, Linda J. Smith of Ardmore, brother, Tommy Wilson of Redlands, Calif., grandchildren; Eric L. Dunn and wife, Cheri, Brandi Surber and husband, Robert, Benjamin King and wife, Amanda, and Jarrett King and wife, Sara, great-grandchildren, Ali Noland, Aryn Hendrix, Abby Dunn, Emmy Dunn, Michael Surber, Robert Surber, Zander King, Galenda King, Raiden King, and great-great-grandchild, Kaydence Noland and Kiersten Noland, Elly Hendrix. Two nephews, Danny Pennington and wife Joyce, and Ronnie Pennington and wife, Gracye.

Family will be receiving guests beginning at 9 a.m., before services on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest.
