Funeral services for Claudene Bush Cunningham will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Dr. Alton Fannin. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt Cunningham, Steve Cunningham, Marcus Cunningham, Dennis Flanagan, Kenny French and Randy Skaggs.

Claudene passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 in Denison, Texas. She was born to the late C. W. "Cricket" and Hazel Bush May 6, 1935 at Ardmore. The family moved to Arizona for a few years and returned to Ardmore in 1948. A member of the National Honor Society at Ardmore High School, she graduated with the class of 1953.

She and Kenneth French were married in 1954 and were the parents of two sons, Stan and Greg. Claudene worked for the Oklahoma State Employment Service for 14 years.

Claudene married Herman Cunningham Sept. 24, 1977 at Richardson, Texas. She worked with her husband at Cunningham Carpets where she took care of the accounting. In 1991 after retiring, they moved to Caney Creek on Lake Texoma. Returning to Ardmore in 1998 they enjoyed playing golf with many other couples. During the winter months they became 'snowbirds' living for six months each year at Zapata, Texas. Herman preceded her in death in 2007.

Claudene loved being a member of the First Baptist Church, especially her Sunday school class and the preaching by Dr. Fannin. She also enjoyed water skiing, fishing, golf, painting, sewing and reading.

Claudene is survived by her two sons and their wives, Stan and Mary French, Greg and Julie French, her step-sons and their wives, Mike and Donna Cunningham, Mark and Mary Cunningham; her brothers, Dennis and Rick Bush; her grandchildren, Crystal Carter, Kenney and Jodie French Parrish, and Kate French; her step-grandchildren, Steve, Matt and Marcus Cunningham; several great-grandchildren and her very dear friend, Jo (Hill) Scott.
