Jason was born on April 29, 1978, at Ardmore Memorial Hospital to Ronnie and Rosalee (Henley) Carroll. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2020 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, Texas at the age of 42.

Jason was raised in Ringling, and was a graduate with the Ringling High School Class of 1996. In 1997, he moved with his family to Marietta where he worked for Cooke County Roofing. He studied at the Ardmore Higher Education Center and North Central Texas College in Gainesville. In 2001, Jason moved to Bowie, Texas where he lived for several years, then later made his home in Alvord, Texas. He was very proud of his oilfield career, and worked as a pumper for Devon Energy, Chesapeake Energy, and EOG Resources for close to a decade. Although he lived in Texas, his heart was in Love County. In 2012 he returned home to Marietta. Jason married Casey Lea Cox on May 31, 2014, in a ceremony held at the Cox Family Reunion at Lake Murray. On that day, he gained a son, Dakota. Jason and Casey made many memories together in their six years of marriage. They shared a love of the Texas Rangers, going on weekly movie dates, and wearing OSU Orange.

Jason was a powerlifter who competed in the Ronnie Coleman Classic. He was also an excellent craftsman who loved wood working and an avid collector of knives. Jason loved animals, he raised and trained pit bull dogs; although he always told his parents they were “Staffordshire Terriers” because they were afraid of pit bulls. Jason and his good friend Shelton Medlock would train them to pull weight in competitions and over the years, they developed a champion bloodline and won many awards. He was a part of the Texoma Pit Bull Club and the Hardwood Kennel Club. He had many other interests in his life such as listening to music, playing the guitar from an early age in life, watching movies, hunting, fishing, and most of all loved traveling with his father. Jason was a member of Christ Tabernacle Church of Marietta.

In his 42 years on Earth, he touched the lives of many people. He loved everyone. His many cherished friends meant the world to him. He was especially proud of his niece and nephew, Rebecca and Caleb.

Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Betty Henley, and his paternal grandparents, Buddy and Annie Carroll.
