Murray State announces college basketball protocols for 2021 season
TISHOMINGO — Murray State College athletics will follow NJCAA Region II and CDC guidelines by adopting attendance protocols for the 2021 basketball season to protect students, players, coaches and fans. Protocols apply to men’s and women’s games.
Murray will limit attendance to 182 fans, or 25% capacity, for basketball games in Tishomingo’s Beames Fieldhouse this season. The college will utilize a pass-list system that allows for a specific number of fans in several categories.
Murray State students will be allotted 40 spaces with valid student ID required for entrance. Family members of players will be limited to 30 for men’s and women’s games.
Visiting team family members will be allowed 16 spaces for men’s and women’s teams at each game. Walk-up tickets will be limited to 20 for each game.
Murray State coaches’ family members will be allowed 30 tickets, with MSC administration, faculty and boosters allowed 20 tickets.
Murray State men host Grayson County College in Tishomingo on Thursday, Jan. 28. The game will begin at 7 p.m., and fans are encouraged to arrive early to allow for protocols.
Fans and family members must enter through the northwest entrance and exit through the southwest entrance. Signage will be posted to guide both entrance and exit.
Face masks are required at all times with no exceptions and temperatures will be taken prior to admission. After two attempts, anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will be refused entrance. Those who feel sick or have fever are encouraged to avoid coming to campus.
Socially distanced seating will be enforced for everyone except family units. Most home games are scheduled to be live streamed at www.mscaggies.com/watch to accommodate those unable to attend in person. Stated protocols are subject to change and updates may be made as needed.
