On Saturday morning, you should head to El Chico for a great breakfast that will help support two great causes.
The Ardmore Arbuckle Sunrise Rotary Club will be teaming up with the Ardmore City Schools Band for the event which will serve a breakfast burrito with sausage and eggs, fried potatoes, fresh fruit and a beverage. The Rotarians will be preparing the food while band members will be the servers.
The two groups have been partnering with one another on the event for several years, and all funds raised will be split between the two organizations.
Sunrise Rotary does a lot of work in the community, particularly with children. Some of their projects include purchasing a dictionary for every third grader in Carter County, sponsoring a student of the month at Take Two, and hosting speech and debate tournaments. They also do a yearly grant project, most recently renovating and buying tech items for the library at the Ardmore Boys and Girls Club.
Sunrise Rotary President Renee Bryant said the club’s motto is ‘service above self.’
“We are truly a service-oriented organization, and we’re always looking for ways to help others and improve our community,” she said.
Breakfast will be from 7 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at El Chico, located at 124 Holiday Dr. in Ardmore. Tickets will be available at the door with single tickets costing $10 and family tickets, which can be used for groups of up to five, costing $30.
To-go orders are also welcome and can be arranged by contacting Renee Bryant at 580-221-1470.
The Ardmore Arbuckle Sunrise Rotary Club meets every Thursday morning at 7 a.m. at the Ardmore Public Library, located at 320 E. St. NW. The club welcomes anyone interested in joining or finding out more about the work they do in the community.
