The son of the late William (Bill) I. Price and Lottie Mae Price (Jennings), Truman was born on April 28, 1939 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Truman passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 27 days.
As a loving husband and father, Truman adored his wife, the late Delta Price. Together, they raised two sons, Taft and Truman Jr.
Truman grew up in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School. After graduating, Truman was drafted into the United States Army. Upon returning to Ardmore after his military service, Truman became the sports editor for the Daily Ardmoreite.
After a few years at the Ardmoreite, Truman decided to attend college at Southeastern Oklahoma University to earn a degree in accounting.
Soon after, Truman and his family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where he began a 15 year career as an accountant for Conoco. Following the oil bust of 1984, Truman moved back to Ardmore and opened up his own accounting office.
After 20 years in Ardmore, Truman retired to spend time with his wife.
Truman found peace and quiet living in the country and loved being surrounded by nature. He enjoyed riding on his tractor and maintaining his beautiful property. Truman was an avid sports fan, especially baseball. He supported the Oklahoma Sooners, the Dallas Cowboys and the N.Y Yankees. Survivors include his two sons, Taft Price and wife
Survivors include his two sons, Taft Price and wife Debbie and Truman Jr; grandchildren, Troy, Tanner, Taylor, Tara, Sydney Price and Luke Juricic; daughter-in-law, Valerie Nicola; siblings Ywacheta Watterson of Dickson, Oklahoma, Jerald Price of Mariette, Oklahoma and Billy Price of Greeley, Colorado. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife Delta.
Graveside services for Truman Harwood Price, 82, will be at 2pm Friday, April 29, 2022 in the Hillcrest Memorial Park with a reception to follow back at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
