William “Bill” M. Hunter, 76, of Marietta, OK, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, in his home, with family at his side. Bill was born in Boone, IA to Carl and Violet Hunter on February 1, 1946, and he had four siblings. He married his bride of 37 years Sandra Metcalf on August 14, 1985 at the Lake Murray Chapel. Bill worked diligently in construction all his life. When he was a young man a man named Paul Dickens noticed how hard he worked, and taught Bill the craft of repairing architectural precast, concrete, and stone. Bill took this trade and went on to incorporate a national concrete restoration construction company that was not only lucrative but also long term successful for over thirty years. Bill retired after over forty years and passed on his practice and business to a successor employee named Phil Turnage. During Bill’s career, he taught, equipped, and passed on his legacy of restoring precast, concrete, and stone to many people including his son, Jeff Hunter, and daughter, Kristl Hofheimer. Bill loved to work. He lived and breathed to work hard and play hard, showing up to job sites to solve problems, and later after work to enjoy company with close friends, drinking Harp Beer and Vodka NFL(with no lime or citrus!!!). Bill loved watching football and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Bill was a people person. He was said to be able to sell anything to anybody. Bill made friends and had a rich network of business alleys and contacts all over the nation from coast to coast. Bill loved listening to music and singing along to old country singers like Johnny Cash, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Willie Nelson. Bill always loved listening to the piano, especially boogie woogie style music in Louisiana. Bill loved solving crossword puzzles and reading murder mystery novels every day. Bill loved the Lord and was baptized at East Baptist Church in 1983. In his later years, Bill loved going to Winstar Casino, gambling at the slot machines, and talking to the staff of the local restaurants. Survivors include Bill’s wife, Sandy Hunter, of the home; son, Jeff Hunter and wife Laurel of Minnesota; daughter, Kristl Hofheimer of Moore; grandsons, Cameron Hofheimer of Moore and Mason Suddreth of
