At her May 12 concert in Sydney, Australia, Kacey Musgraves got a weird request from the crowd: do a "shoey," where you're supposed to drink a beer or other alcoholic beverage out of a worn shoe.
Apparently, drinking out of a shoe is Australia's idea of a good time (although Americans have keg stands, so who are we to judge). It's not uncommon to find someone guzzling a beer from a sneaker at an Australian party.
On top of that, Australian racing driver Daniel Ricciardo will often celebrate a win with a shoey and says it's "delicious," though I'm not sure I believe him.
But Musgraves reportedly refused the request.
SHE STUCK IT OUT. WE STAN AN ANTI SHOEY QUEEN
— jackson langford (@jacksonlangford)May 12, 2019I can't believe we, as an audience, almost bullied@KaceyMusgraves into doing a shoey on stage tonight. Oh what a world, indeed

But apparently making celebrities do a shoey at their own show is not completely unheard of. Rapper Post Malone has been known to partake at his concerts in Australia. There was even a mural of him doing one at some point, because art must imitate life.
